Dear Friend of GPF,
After nineteen wonderful years, I'm retiring as Executive Director of Global Policy Forum at yearend. I leave with a tremendous sense of satisfaction for all GPF has accomplished.
I'm confident that the organization will go forward in strength, with a capable new leadership team and the spirit of a new generation. I'm asking for your support at this important time, to give the new team the financing that they need to carry the project into the future.

Thanks to the help of many donors and supporters, GPF has monitored global policymaking at the United Nations and provided a critical voice for international peace and justice. Our partners worldwide tell us that GPF's work has been indispensable to the movement for global solidarity and positive social change.
GPF has always aspired to produce new thinking and creative vision. We have dug deep into the hidden sources of war and economic oppression, exposing the misleading explanations of those in power. Consider our report on the roots of piracy off the coast of Somalia , our work on the UN's use of private military and security companies, and our series of public events on the future of global food policy, which have addressed pressing issues ranging from corporate influence on food to land grabbing.
We have great plans for the immediate future at GPF, building on existing strengths and taking new initiatives. In 2013, we will:
- Publish a major critical paper on "humanitarian" intervention.
- Bring the voices of ordinary people from the Global South- small farmers, women, displaced people and others excluded from global politics - to give testimony to UN policymakers, providing a bridge with those on the ground and a reality check for the diplomats.
- Advocate for better financing for the UN's development programs and a more just international tax system that closes the corporate loopholes and ends the race to the bottom.
- Expand our media interviews and enrich our website with more videos and podcasts of events.
Change is stirring worldwide, and not a moment too soon! As a new generation of leadership takes over at GPF, I am reaching out to you and all our friends and supporters.
