II.Basis for credits in respect of the Tax Equalization Fund
Under regulation 5.2 (e) of the Financial Regulations of the United Nations,
adjustments shall be made to the assessments of the Member States in respect
of:
Half of the Members credits in the Tax Equalization Fund for the financial
period estimated to be not required to meet charges for tax refunds during
the calendar year, and any adjustments in the estimated credits previously
taken into account.

1. Advances to the Working Capital Fund for the biennium 2000-2001
Under resolution 54/253 of 23 December 1999, the General Assembly resolved that the Working Capital Fund shall be established for the biennium 2000-2001 in the amount of 100 million United States dollars. In accordance with paragraph 6 of Assembly resolution 54/237A of 23 December 1999, the advances for the new Member States whose rates of assessment have not yet been incorporated in a 100 per cent scale of assessment are:

2. Contributions to the United Nations regular budget for the year 2000
The basis of assessment for the year 2000 was $1,051,919,850 (being the amount assessed on Member States of $1,201,274,400 less staff assessment income of $149,354,550) under General Assembly resolution 54/250 C of 23 December 1999. Under resolution 55/5 B of 23 December 2000, the Assembly decided that the contributions of Tuvalu and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for the year 2000 should be calculated on the basis of one twelfth of their relevant rates of assessment for the year 2000 per full calendar month of membership and that Tuvalu should be credited with a corresponding proportion of its non-member State assessment for the year 2000.
