Suspension of the Ban

Tanjug/Serbia-Info
March 20, 2000

Brussels - In a meeting held in Brussels on Monday, the EU foreign ministers decided to suspend a ban on air links with Yugoslavia, the French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine told a news conference after the meeting.

The foreign ministers accepted proposals for the implementation and a detailed working out of the decision on the suspension of the ban, adopted in a meeting of the EU Council of Ministers in mid-February.

Monday's decision will gain full validity once it has been published in the European Union's official register, which is expected to happen by the end of the week. After that, Yugoslav airlines JAT will be able to resume flights to major European cities, while European air carriers will be able to resume flights to Belgrade.
