Dear Ambassadors Sharma and Sucharipa,
We are writing to you in your capacity as Vice Chairpersons of the Ad Hoc Working Group for the high-level international inter-governmental forum on financing for development to request the fullest possible NGO participation in the preparation process, including the Working Group itself.
From our organizational contacts we know that NGOs in all regions have an interest in this process. NGOs have important contributions to offer -- including expertise, information, field experience and contacts -- that could prove helpful to the Working Group and subsequently to the preparatory intergovernmental process.
We believe that the issues being addressed are of very great importance to the world community and that a high level of transparency and participation would strengthen the process and increase its potential for success.
Yours sincerely,
James A. Paul
