Pakistan will report, within a fortnight, to the United Nations on the implementation of "mandatory anti- terrorism measures" suggested by the world body, a government official told Dawn .
The source said that a meeting will be held in the foreign office on Thursday to prepare a draft of the report that has to be submitted before Dec 27.
A UN committee on counter-terrorism on Sept 28 had sent a set of concrete steps to member states, which they were required to implement, to counter terrorist activities.
The mandatory steps included freezing of bank accounts of individuals and organizations suspected of being involved in terrorist activities, arresting individuals and banning such organizations, and free flow of information between member states.
The official source said that Thursday's meeting would review measures taken so far and prepare a draft report, which after finalization, would be submitted to the United Nations committee on counter-terrorism.
The meeting will be attended by officials of the National Accountability Bureau, State Bank of Pakistan, ministries of law and finance, and Inter-Services Intelligence.
The source said that a complete list of individuals and organizations, whose bank accounts have been frozen because of their suspected involvement in terrorism, would also be placed before the meeting. It would also consider implementing the "remaining" mandatory steps which have not been carried out so far, the source added.
