Monika Hoegen is working as coordinator for media relations and strategic communication for GPF Europe in Bonn. Prior to joining the team, she has been working for more than two decades as a journalist, moderator, communication consultant and media trainer – mostly focusing on development cooperation, international affairs and globalization.

She has travelled to and worked in numerous countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, reporting for newspapers and radio. Since 2012 she has a second office in Brussels. As a consultant, moderator and trainer, she works with international organizations and institutions – such as the EU Commission, namely the Directorate General for Development/EuropeAid, UN Agencies, the German International Cooperation, GIZ, OSCE, the International Fairtrade Movement, various political foundations, the Deutsche Welle Academy and others. Monika holds a Master Degree in Political Science and International Relations.
