Important message from the Board of Directors  regarding GPF New York:

After nineteen years of successful UN-related monitoring, networking and critical analysis, Global Policy Forum is undertaking a fundamental restructuring process and entering a new phase.

Due to financial considerations, the Board of Directors announces that GPF will close its U.S. office at the Church Center for the United Nations in New York by 30 April 2013.

Global Policy Forum Europe, the independent partner organization of GPF, will continue in operation in Bonn, Germany.

Among the key areas of GPF Europe’s work will be sustainable development goals and concepts; the Post-2015 development agenda; UN reform and global governance; financing for development and tax justice; and critical analysis of corporate influence in international policy processes.

GPF Europe will be represented at the United Nations and will maintain a presence in the UN community in New York. GPF will continue to be an online presence and source of important information about the UN and global policy matters.

Long-range plans envision continuing its active role in the Civil Society Reflection Group on Global Development Perspectives and internationalizing its activities in the coming years by expanding its global network of correspondents/policy advisors.

The Board of Directors of Global Policy Forum expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to Jim Paul, founder and director of GPF, who has enabled GPF to make its uniquely important contributions to public engagement and awareness of international policy, and to all the board members, staff, interns, partners and supporters who have contributed jointly to the work of GPF over these years.

The Board also expresses most sincere thanks to David Weaver, Treasurer and Acting Executive Director, and Carol Goldstein, Senior Financial and Administrative Advisor, for their dedicated voluntary service to GPF during this time of transition.

The Board of Directors is looking forward to continued and increased collaboration with GPF Europe Director Jens Martens and UN representative in New York Barbara Adams.
