The human rights framework and the principles and goals of sustainable development are of paramount importance for international cooperation and national policies. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, unanimously adopted by the United Nations in September 2015, outlines bold and transformative steps needed to address the challenges of inequalities and sustainability. It is a universal agenda that requires an integrated response across all policy streams.
