CONGO Resolution (June 26, 2003)

Conference of NGOs
(June 26, 2003)

The CONGO Board – recognizes that free and open worldwide access to the United Nations Official Documents System (ODS), the digital record of UN documents in all official languages, is technically feasible via the web:

  • notes that the requisite hardware infrastructure for such access is lacking;

  • further recognizes that the information provided by the system is essential to the work of the NGO community;

  • therefore urges the UN Secretariat and the UN Member States to support full funding for universal access to the ODS in the Budget for the biennium 2004-2005.

    The CONGO President was asked to lead a delegation in September 2003 to the UNSG and related financial services to press the above resolution.
