Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) - National Basic Food Prices Data and Analysis Tool

In response to the high food prices, the FAO have developed this interactive database, which shows the prices of staple foods on national markets in fifty five developing countries. The database gives prices in local currencies and measurements, as well as in dollars and standard weights. This interactive tool allows for price comparisons between domestic and international markets, as well as across different markets within one country and between countries.

United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food

The UN Commission on Human Rights appointed the UN's Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Olivier de Schutter in March 2008. De Schutter thus proceeds Jean Zeigler who had been holding this mandate since September 2000. The Special Rapporteur works to ensure that governments are meeting their obligations to respect, protect and fulfil the right to food of all people.

La Via Campesina

This international movement of peasants, small- and medium-sized producers, landless, rural women, indigenous people, rural youth and agricultural workers works to promote food sovereignty and sustainable agricultural production based on small and medium-sized producers.
