Civil Society Organizations´ Proposals for the FAO Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Land and Natural Resources Tenure

Print
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) raises awareness about the importance of good governance of land and the management of natural resources. In 2009 the FAO launched an initiative on Voluntary Guidelines for the Governance of Land and other Natural Resources Tenure. Many consultations were held to identify good practices and possible solutions. As a result of this initiative, governments, civil society and international organizations share agreements made on a range of issues, including collective rights over resources, regulation of investments and human rights violations related to land use.
