Sarah Ganter is Director of the Sustainable Development Program at Global Policy Forum Europe. In this role, she monitors the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and provides important impetus for discussions on the Post-2030 Agenda. As an expert on international tax justice, she accompanies the negotiations for a tax framework convention at the United Nations. Sarah has been a member of the civil society steering group of the Independent Commission for the International Reform of Corporate Taxation (ICRICT) since 2018 and represents GPF Europe in the coordination committee of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ).
Social inequality and global distributive justice have been key themes of her work for many years. From 2008 to 2025, she was a policy advisor and foreign affairs officer at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES). Her responsibilities during this time included coordinating regional trade union work in Latin America and the Caribbean, managing the FESCaribe international office with responsibility for the Dominican Republic and Cuba, and leading the globalization project in the Global and European Policy Department.
From 2005 to 2006, Sarah worked as a Carlo Schmid Program fellow at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Sarah studied political science with minors in philosophy and computer science at the Technical University of Dresden. In addition to German, she speaks English and Spanish fluently.
